I was feeling a bit overwhelmed about what (or who) to write about next so I decided to just close my eyes and pick a name from my tree and see what I could share about him or her.  Luck of the draw pick is…James Wilborn Allison (1834-1865).  As luck would have it, there is a lesson to be learned…

TIP:  As great as Ancestry.com is, it is not the end all, be all of research.  There are too many other resources – many of them free – that can take what you find on Ancestry to a whole new level!
